SPEAKER INFORMATION

Lisa Metcalf, Benefits Consultant with Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting, is passionate about helping employers find innovative solutions for their total benefits strategy.  Lisa provides a thoughtful approach to design, implementation and benefits management, while simultaneously providing options and guidance on competitive employee benefit programs to attract and retain key talent.

Lisa’s expertise in strategic planning, market trends, benefit and network analysis will serve to guide her clients to provide a best-in-class offering for employees. She also helps clients manage costs, receive the greatest value for their investments and meet their desired short-and long-term goals. Lisa will work with you to build and nurture a culture of wellness with the goals of increasing and maintaining workforce productivity and employee engagement while helping employees feel empowered to make informed decisions regarding their health and financial well-being.

Lisa has been in the health insurance industry since 2004. She has functional knowledge around the mechanics within claims processing, compliance, medical policy, payment solutions and provider contracting.

 

Mardi Burns, SVP and Senior Benefits Consultant with Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting, strives to be an integral part of her client’s team to develop creative and proactive strategic benefit plan solutions.

Mardi Burns joined Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting in 1987 and has over 30 years of experience in employee benefits, with a focus on assisting medium to large employers design, implement and manage their benefit plans. Her specialties include multi-sited self-funded plans, strategic benefit planning facilitation, public employer plans and integrating the benefit strategy with engagement and wellness strategies.

She provides renewal and benefit analysis, union negotiation consulting, employee education, healthcare reform analysis and planning and wellness consultation, while keeping an eye on strategic recommendations. Mardi has been involved in the design and implementation of several employer on-site and near-site health clinics including facilitating cooperative multi-employer clinics. Additionally, Mardi is a frequent speaker on employee benefits costs and solutions.

 

Rebecca Kellner, HR Consultant, VP & Compliance Officer with Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting, offers practical guidance and helps employers make informed decisions about HR practices and benefits compliance.

Rebecca Kellner is passionate about helping clients simplify the complicated and advises employers on complex issues involving leaves of absences, accommodations and discrimination. She also partners with clients on a proactive basis, such as with early intervention of claims and management training. She is a regular speaker on a variety of HR and leadership topics.

While in private practice, she focused on defending workers’ compensation claims and handling Medicare-related issues arising from those claims. Previously, she interned with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and for a plaintiff’s employment law firm.
