Fox Valley SHRM is excited to bring back the Law Firm of Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry, S.C. for our fall session of Labor and Employment Law Update.

Members of the LCOJ employment law team will discuss legal developments arising in 2017 and how those developments are likely to impact Fox Valley SHRM Human Resource professionals.  The team will provide their insight on the developments, provide recommendations for compliance, and answer questions from the audience.  Topics will include:
  • Impact of Trump Administration on federal labor and employment law, and steps employers need to take to comply.  This will include a review and analysis of the dramatic changes in rules and guidances of the EEOC, OSHA, USCIS, Wage and Hour, Department of Labor, OFCCP, NLRB and other agencies.
  • New court decisions under Title VII, the ADA and the FMLA and how those decisions may impact wellness plans, pre- and post-employment medical examinations, drug testing (especially in states with legalized marijuana), accommodation obligations, leave requirements, and related topics.
  • Recent Wisconsin developments, including cases under the Fair Employment Act, Wisconsin Wage and Hour laws, Unemployment laws, Right to Work Act, and other state and local developments affecting Fox Valley employers.
  • Future “Hot Button” issues and practical recommendations for minimizing liabilities in your workplace.

Attendees will be encouraged to discuss their experiences with these developing laws and to bring any questions they have for review and comment by the LCOJ employment law team.
