We have invited Bill Budzien, VP, Chief Financial Officer – MRA The Management Association to discuss “Finance and Accounting for the Nonfinancial Leader”.

Learn and explore the principles of accounting and interpret statements to determine the financial health of an organization. Participants will also learn about the budgeting process. 

What You Will Learn:
• Interpret and analyze income statements, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows using ratio analysis.
• Determine ways to positively affect cash flow, net income, and the balance sheet.
• Learn the steps necessary to create and maintain a useful budget.
•Identify basic processes used to justify capital purchases and/or cost reduction proposals within organizations.

Who Should Attend: 
Managers responsible for building or meeting their budgets. Emphasis is placed on enabling the nonfinancial manager to quickly understand the basic principles of accounting, “the language of business.”

Recertification Credits:
Program has been approved for 2.50 Business recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.

Speaker Information:
Bill Budzien, VP, Chief Financial Officer – MRA The Management Association

Bill is passionate about and takes pride in overcoming obstacles to get results and for changing an organization’s culture to be more customer-focused and market-driven to achieve profitable growth. He is equally passionate about physical fitness, achieving recognition that includes both winning and being named a consistent finalist in the Fittest Exec competition sponsored by the Milwaukee BizTimes newspaper.

With more than 25 years of executive level leadership in finance and operations, Bill’s experience spans the manufacturing and service industries in both private and publically-traded companies. Obtaining his CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, his expertise includes all aspects of financial planning and reporting, revenue forecasting, performance measurements, benchmarking, working capital management, and facilities management. He has been responsible for bottom-line results and providing leadership and direction to achieve maximum growth, profit, and return on assets, and he has designed and implemented pay-for-performance programs for managers and hourly associates. Bill’s operational experience includes accountability for sales & marketing, design engineering, operations, customer service, IT, and human resources.

Bill earned a master’s degree in finance/marketing from the University of Chicago. He graduated summa cum laude with a double major bachelor’s degree in accounting and mathematics from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He is an active volunteer in his church and in the community. He is a former executive committee member and current board member for the Wauwatosa (WI) Chamber of Commerce.
