The Fox Valley Society for Human Resource Management (FVSHRM) is the Fox Valley's leading professional association for members of the human resource management profession. As one of the local affiliate chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Fox Valley SHRM Chapter is dedicated to advancing the human resource profession and serving its more than 350 members by providing them with a variety of opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and networking.
The purpose of SHRM is to provide an opportunity for Human Resource professionals in the Fox Valley area to meet in a spirit of cooperation for purposes of education and information-sharing relating to human resource management. The Chapter’s mission is to enhance the professionalism of human resource management in the Fox Valley area, to establish friendly communication between the various employers, and to prepare human resource professionals for their roles as leaders and decision makers within their organizations.
In a nutshell: Healthcare reform died… again. There’s a new I-9 form. DOL began the process of looking at the salary basis test rules, but also asked for information to evaluate the duties test for exempt employees. OSHA finally has their system ready for electronic OSHA log submissions. The House began their recess, but the Senate is in session for another 2 weeks, so don't expect major things in the next 30 days.
